Step 1

1. Sift flour with salt. Add egg, water and knead a stiff dough. Knead until completely smooth, about 5 minutes. Wrap it in cling film and refrigerate for 1 hour. Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Chop the nuts with a knife into small crumbs (but they should not turn into powder). Wash the raisins, soak in warm boiled water for 10 minutes, drain in a colander. Heat up in a saucepan 2 tbsp. l. butter, add raisins and simmer for 15 minutes. Mix raisins with nuts. 2. Remove the dough from the refrigerator. Place on a floured surface and cut into 5 equal pieces. Roll out each piece into a 1mm thick layer. The shape and size of the layers should match the baking dish you are using. Trim uneven edges. 3. Preheat the oven to 200ºС. Grease a rectangular mold with high sides with a thin layer of oil. Put the first layer of dough, on it - the fourth part of the prepared filling. 4. Put the second layer of dough, brush it well with butter. Put the filling again and cover it with a new layer of dough. Repeat the operation until all the dough and all the filling are used up. Lubricate each layer, including the top one, with oil. Cover the form with a sheet of parchment, put in the oven. Bake 15 min. 5. In the meantime, prepare the syrup. Dissolve sugar in 3/4 cup of water, put on fire and cook for 10 minutes, stirring constantly, until the syrup thickens slightly. 6. Remove syrup from heat and cool slightly. Pour hot cake with syrup, let it brew at room temperature for 2-3 hours. Remove the cake from the mold and cut into portions.
