Fold the frozen currants into a small metal saucepan or stewpan with a volume of about 500-700 ml and leave at room temperature, allowing the berries to thaw a little. It is enough to simply wash fresh currants, sort them out and put them in a saucepan (stewpan), after which you can immediately proceed to step 2.

Step 2

Pour the prepared currants with the amount of granulated sugar required by the recipe and push with a pusher (preferably wooden) so that the berries release juice.

Step 3

Then put the pan on a small fire, bring the berries with juice to a boil and cook for a couple of minutes, stirring them with a spoon from time to time. Remove sauce from heat and let cool completely. This can be done an hour or two before serving dessert on the table.

Step 4

Warm the walnuts for 3-5 minutes in a dry heated frying pan until you feel their slight smell. Cool, then cut into small pieces and rub in your hands to make them oily.

Step 5

Take the ice cream out of the freezer 10-15 minutes before preparing the dessert and, after opening the package, leave it at room temperature. Prepare bowls for serving.

Step 6

From ice cream, make balls with a special ice cream spoon or an ordinary tablespoon, which must be heated in hot water before each use, and then, if possible, wipe off any remaining water with a paper towel. You need 2-3 scoops per serving. Or, if the appearance of the dish is not very important to you, you can cut the ice cream into pieces with a knife or break it with a spoon.
