Shortbread pie with apples and nut topping
Apple pie is quite simple, and most importantly, a delicious dessert. It is much easier to make shortcrust pastry for the pie than yeast or puff pastry. The crust turns out very tender and melts in your mouth. It is better to use sweet and sour apples, they will give the pastry a pleasant aroma.
How to cook Shortbread pie with apples and nut topping
Step 1
Roll out the dough to fit the baking pan. Place the dough in the pan, forming the bottom and sides.
Step 2
Prepare the filling: in a bowl, mix the apples, 70 g of sugar and starch. Then spread the filling on the dough.
Step 3
Make the top crusty layer: In a bowl, mix the melted butter, remaining sugar and flour. Rub the mixture with your hands until it has the consistency of sand, then add the nuts and mix well again.
Step 4
Place the resulting mixture on top of the apples in the pie.
Step 5
Bake the pie in the oven for 25-30 minutes at 175°C.
