Step 1
1. Rinse dates, put in a sieve, steam over boiling water for 7 minutes. Cut them in half lengthwise, remove the pit. Cut the pulp into semicircles. 2. Peel oranges, cut into very thin circles. Remove bones. 3. For dressing, pour grape and lemon juice into a saucepan, boil down to one third of the original volume. Add basil, stir, let cool. Put the oranges and dates in a salad bowl, pour over the dressing.
