Oranges in syrup

This simple dessert can also be made with other citrus fruits. If you use lemons, the amount of sugar should be doubled.
How to cook Oranges in syrup
Step 1
1.1. Wash oranges, dry. With a small sharp knife, cut off a thin layer of zest and a white bitter part; set aside the zest. Cut the pulp into circles no more than 0.5 cm thick. Remove the seeds. 2. Cut the zest of one orange into very thin strips. Boil water in a saucepan, add sugar and cook over low heat until all the sugar has dissolved. Add the zest to the syrup and cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 30-35 minutes. 3. Put oranges cut into circles on a dish. Pour in hot syrup. Cool and serve. Tip This simple dessert can also be made with other citrus fruits. If you use lemons, the amount of sugar should be doubled.
