Yes, you can use walnuts, cashews, or pine nuts as a substitute for almonds. Just ensure they are finely ground to achieve a similar texture.
Leftover pasta can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove with a splash of water to refresh the texture.
Yes, you can make this dish vegetarian by omitting the parmesan or using a vegetarian-friendly cheese alternative. For a vegan version, replace the cheese with nutritional yeast.
You can use diced Roma tomatoes or grape tomatoes as a substitute. If using larger tomatoes, remove the seeds to prevent excess moisture.
Yes, you can freeze the sauce separately for up to 2 months. However, the pasta itself may become mushy when thawed, so it's best to cook fresh pasta when serving.
For a low-carb version, substitute regular pasta with zucchini noodles (zoodles) or spaghetti squash. The sauce will still pair well with these alternatives.
Fresh parsley, oregano, or thyme can be used as garnishes. Each will add a slightly different flavor profile to the dish.
Yes, grilled chicken, shrimp, or chickpeas can be added for extra protein. Simply cook them separately and mix in before serving.
To reduce heat, omit the chili or use a milder pepper. For more spice, add red pepper flakes or extra chili to taste.
Short pasta like penne, fusilli, or farfalle works well, as they hold the sauce better. However, spaghetti or linguine can also be used for a lighter dish.
