Tsimes golden carrot

Ingredients

  • 1 st. l. prunes
  • 2 tbsp. l. candied oranges
  • salt
  • 6 Art. l. burnt sugar
  • 0.25 tsp ground cloves
  • 0.5 cinnamon
  • 1 kg of carrots
  • lemon juice
  • 0.5 st. l. raisins
  • honey
  • 3 art. l. chicken or goose fat

Cooking

Step 1

Peel the carrots, cut into slices 3 mm thick. Heat the fat, put the carrots in it and simmer for 5 minutes, not letting it brown.

Step 2

Add a little water, sugar, bring to a boil.

Step 3

Put other products and simmer over low heat for 2 hours.

Step 4

If necessary, add a little boiling water - tsimes should not be either dry or liquid. Remove the lid and simmer for another 20 minutes.
