According to the first, the pie was named after the wife of the British King George III, Charlotte of Mecklenburg: she was very fond of apples, and the court cook invented a recipe for a delicate dessert with these fruits especially for her. The Americans insist on a different story, they say, this most delicious charlotte was invented by a confectioner from the city of Charlotte, North Carolina. True, the recipes for pies of the Old and New Worlds are practically the same, so we still want to tip the scales towards the British. However, this does not really matter, because nowadays delicious charlotte with apples is baked all over the world, paying tribute to the simplicity of preparation, delicious taste and bewitching aroma.

  • fine sugar - 180-200 g
  • eggs - 3 pcs.
  • apples -1 kg
  • grated lemon zest - 1 tbsp. l.
  • lemon juice - 3 tbsp. l.
  • flour - 160 g
  • ground cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
  • butter
  • breadcrumbs for preparing the mold

Cooking

Step 1

Grease a 22 cm diameter mold with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Shake off the excess. Put the prepared form for baking delicious charlotte with apples in the refrigerator until use.
