Cone jam

Pine cone jam, or "pine jam" as it is sometimes called, has a pink-brown color and a honey-tarry taste. Despite all the unusualness of such a preparation, cone jam is tasty enough to eat it not only for the sake of health

Ingredients

Servings 10
  • 1 kg young pine cones
  • 1 kg of sugar

Cooking

Step 1

Before cooking, young pine cones are sorted out, debris, needles are removed, washed in clean water, poured into an enamel pan and poured with drinking cold water so that it covers the cones by 1-1.5 cm.

Step 2

Then the cones are boiled, adding sugar. Boil as usual jam for at least 90 minutes, removing the resulting foam.

Step 3

Ready jam is poured into hot jars. It should turn out a beautiful reddish hue, and the smell of pine needles will give it a spicy delicate aroma.
