One of the childhood cakes can be called the "Gift" cake. According to GOST, a classic homemade cake should be made from delicate sponge cakes soaked in sugar syrup and covered with cream sprinkled with roasted peanuts. The mass will become more liquid. Sift flour into the beaten mixture, kneading it until smooth.

Preheat the oven to 200 ℃. Line a baking pan with parchment paper. Pour the biscuit mixture into the pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove the finished biscuit from the oven and cool.

While the sponge cake is baking, prepare the syrup. Pour 100 grams of sugar into a small saucepan and pour hot water over it. Put the saucepan on high heat. When the syrup boils, remove it from the stove. Pour a spoonful of cognac into the cooled syrup.

Prepare the cream. Pour sugar into a saucepan, add a chicken egg and stir until smooth. Place the saucepan with the cream on the stove, remembering to stir until smooth. Remove the mixture from the stove and let it cool. Beat the softened butter until fluffy. Add the cooled egg-sugar mixture, vanilla, cognac to the butter, beat for 10 seconds.

Assemble the cake. Soak the sponge cake with sugar syrup. Cut out layers using a mold. Spread two-thirds of the cream evenly over them. Put the second layer on top and spread the remaining cream over it, remembering to coat the sides of the cake.
