Italian focaccia
Focaccia is an Italian wheat flatbread made from different types of dough: either yeast dough, which is the basis for pizza, or unleavened dough. A delicious recipe for Italian focaccia made from yeast dough with tomatoes and basil.
How to cook Italian focaccia
Step 1
In warm water, dissolve yeast, honey and mix well. Leave for 10 minutes. Sift flour into the dough and knead the dough. Knead for at least 5 minutes. Grease the bowl with oil, cover it with a towel and leave for 2 hours.
Step 2
Spread the finished dough over a form greased with vegetable oil and leave for another 15 minutes. Make a hole in the center with your finger and pour olive oil in there. Spread cherry tomatoes, thyme and basil evenly over the top. Salt and pepper to taste. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 °C for 20-25 minutes.
