How to cook Roasted asparagus with cheese and ham sauce

Step 1

1. Prepare the sauce. Peel and chop the onion. Grate all the cheese on a fine grater. Heat the butter in a saucepan, fry the onion in it, 2 minutes. Add flour and cook, stirring, 3 minutes. 2. Remove the saucepan from the heat and, while stirring, pour in the milk in a thin stream. Return the saucepan to low heat, cook for 10 minutes, then remove from heat and immediately rub through a sieve. 3. Add cheese to the sauce, season to taste. Stir until cheese is completely melted. 4. Cut the ham into thin strips, add to the sauce, mix and set aside. Before serving, the sauce must be heated, not boiling. 5. Put 8 wooden toothpicks in cold water, leave for 10 minutes. Cut off the stiff ends of asparagus, 1.5-2 cm long, peel from the upper skin. 6. Fasten with toothpicks every 4 stems. Drizzle the asparagus with vegetable oil and season with a little salt. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Fry the asparagus for 4 minutes. from each side. Serve with sauce.
