Cherry pie

Not far from Samara, in the village of Shiryaevo, the Cherry Pie Festival has been held for several years. The participants dedicate poems, songs, ditties to the berry beloved by many, paint it with oil and sculpt it from clay. And the guests enjoy eating cherry pies. Here is one of the tried and true recipes.
How to cook Cherry pie
Step 1
Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance, it should be at room temperature. Preheat oven to 190˚C. Line a baking sheet with parchment.
Step 2
Beat butter and sugar with a mixer until light creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well, then add the milk, zest and vanilla extract. Sift flour with baking powder and salt and fold into butter-egg mixture in batches.
Step 3
Stir half of the cherry into the batter. Put the dough on a baking sheet, sprinkle with the remaining cherries and almond petals. Put the pie in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, check the readiness with a wooden stick. Cool the cake on a baking sheet.
Step 4
For the frosting, combine the icing sugar, vanilla extract and orange juice. Drizzle the frosting over the cooled cake and let it set until it sets.
