Waffles in a gas waffle iron
To make waffles in a Soviet waffle iron on gas, use butter, not margarine. Despite the fact that they are almost indistinguishable in taste in baked goods, margarine is an artificially created product. And it was used in Soviet recipes as a substitute for expensive butter. And real butter contains cream or whole milk, no additional vegetable fats are allowed in the composition. Real butter should have a fat content of at least 72.5%.
How to cook Waffles in a gas waffle iron
Step 1

Start kneading the dough. Add sugar to soft butter and mix with a mixer. Add flour and yolk. Mix thoroughly with a mixer. In a separate container, beat the egg white into an airy foam with a mixer at maximum speed. Pour the mass into the dough and mix carefully.
Step 2

Cook soft waffles on the stove. Mix the thin batter again and pour 1-2 tbsp into the center of the lower part of the mold. Close and press lightly. Fry the waffle for 2-3 minutes on each side, turning the mold over. Immediately after frying, while the waffles are hot, roll them into tubes, horns or baskets. If you miss the time, they will become crispy and break.
