Fried Italian Pies
Panzerotti are Italian pies made from yeast dough and fried in deep fat. The name comes from the Italian "pancia" - "belly", because the pies are really pot-bellied and convex. The pies are light, with thin dough and a crispy crust. Prepare fluffy and delicious pies according to the Italian recipe.
How to cook Fried Italian Pies
Step 1
Mix water with sugar and yeast, sift flour, add salt and olive oil and knead the dough. Grease it with olive oil, put it in a clean bowl, cover with a towel and put it in a warm place for 1 hour.
Step 2
Roll out the dough into a thin layer. Using a special mold, cut out round blanks with a diameter of 10 cm. Grease each blank with tomato paste, leaving small edges, lay out the mozzarella and fold it in half.
Step 3
Deep fry the patties on both sides until golden brown. Place them on a paper towel to remove excess fat.
