How to cook Marinated carrots for the winter

Step 1

Prepare the ingredients. Wash the carrots thoroughly with a brush under cold running water. Cut off the tops, leaving small green tails. Lay out on paper towels.

Step 2

Select jars based on the size of the carrot. Wash them thoroughly and sterilize. It is convenient to do this in the microwave: pour some water into jars and place inside the device for 2-3 minutes. Then turn over onto a clean towel and let dry completely.

Step 3

Divide the carrots into prepared sterilized jars. Peel the garlic and cut into slices. Add to jars of carrots. Spread bay leaves, peppercorns, mustard and cloves over them as well.

Step 4

Prepare marinade for carrots. Pour drinking water into a small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Pour in sugar and salt. Stir and cook for 1 minute over high heat.

Step 5

Remove the saucepan from the heat. Add vinegar and stir. Carefully pour the carrots with spices in jars into the resulting marinade. Pour, evenly distributing, vegetable oil.

Step 6

Seal jars of pickled carrots. Let cool. Store in refrigerator. Pickled carrots can be used as a savory snack on their own.
