Puff pastry pretzels
We offer the simplest version of this recipe. If desired, pretzels can be prepared with poppy seeds steamed and mixed with honey, with crushed nuts, raisins and other dried fruits, just with honey or jam.
How to cook Puff pastry pretzels
Step 1
1. Melt butter, add granulated sugar and stir. (It is not necessary to stir the sugar until completely dissolved - it should just be evenly distributed.) Sprinkle the surface of the table with sifted flour mixed with granulated sugar. Place one sheet of puff pastry on the table. Brush it with butter and sugar using a pastry brush. Cover with second sheet. 2. Roll out both sheets into a thin rectangle. Trim the edges with a knife. Sprinkle evenly the surface of the dough with cinnamon and granulated sugar. 3. Take two opposite edges of the rectangle and pull them towards each other so that they touch exactly in the middle of the layer. Take it with your hands. Once again, fold the opposite edges of the resulting rectangle so that they touch in the middle. 4. Fold the resulting roll in half. On the cut, it should resemble a multi-layered heart. 5. Preheat oven to 200°C. Cover the baking sheet with a sheet of oiled parchment. Cut the roll into 1 cm wide pieces. Lay on a baking sheet, put in the oven. Bake 7 min. Remove from the oven, flip the pretzels to the other side and bake for another 5 minutes. Cover finished products with a clean towel. Let cool. Sprinkle the pretzels with powdered sugar.
