Quinoa with Dried Cranberries and Pear Saute

How to cook Quinoa with Dried Cranberries and Pear Saute
Step 1
Rinse the quinoa well. Combine quinoa, 1/2 cup water, and 1/2 cup milk in a saucepan. Add cinnamon. Place the mixture over medium heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat slightly and simmer for another 15 minutes, stirring, until all liquid has evaporated.
Step 2
Add remaining milk, almond flakes, dried cranberries and maple syrup. Stir and cook for a couple more minutes until thickened. Remove from heat, cover and let cool.
Step 3
Peel the pear from the peel and seeds. Cut into 8 lengthwise slices of medium thickness.
Step 4
Heat a frying pan, add olive oil, pear slices and fry over medium heat for about 5 minutes. until soft and golden. Add the maple syrup and cook the pear for 1 more minute, basting and basting in the syrup constantly. After the time has elapsed, remove from heat. Serve cooked quinoa with pear sauté.
