Spicy coleslaw
This spicy cabbage salad is more like a vegetable stew - only in terms of the method of preparation: all its components must first be fried and then stewed. But the main thing is its taste, bright, with oriental notes, thanks to curry and cumin..
Ingredients
Servings 6-8 servings- 1 kg white cabbage
- sweet pepper - 1 pc.
- 2 heads of onion
- garlic - 4 cloves
- 400 g canned tomatoes
- 3 Art. spoons of olive oil
- large lemon
- salt
- 0.5 tsp. curry powder and cumin
- sugar - 1 tbsp.
- 4 tbsp. l. chopped fresh cilantro
Cooking
Step 1
Cabbage and sweet pepper, peeled from seeds and partitions, finely chop. Peel and chop the onion and garlic. Cut the tomatoes into cubes.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a deep frying pan, fry the onion until translucent.
Step 3
Add garlic and sweet pepper. Fry everything together for 3-4 minutes. Add spices and simmer for 2 more minutes.
Step 4
Then put the cabbage and tomatoes in the pan. Sprinkle with sugar and add lemon juice.
Step 5
Close the lid and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes.
Step 6
Sprinkle with chopped cilantro before serving.
