Rice with green onions, peas and cumin

Ingredients

Servings 4-6
  • 2 cups long grain rice
  • 400 g frozen green peas
  • 1 medium bunch green onions
  • 1 tsp zira seeds
  • vegetable oil
  • 0.5 h. l. Sahara
  • salt

Cooking

Step 1

In a large heavy-bottomed saucepan, add 1.5 tbsp. l. butter, add cumin seeds and a pinch of salt. Put on medium heat, warm up for about 40 seconds.

Step 2

Add rice and mix thoroughly. Pour in 3 cups of boiling water, bring to a boil again, close the lid. Cook over high heat for 3 minutes, on medium - 7 minutes. and at the minimum - 2 min. Turn off the heat, cover the pan with a large thick towel, let it brew for 15 minutes.

Step 3

At the same time, chop the green onion: the white part is rather fine, the green part is cut into 1.5 cm pieces. Heat 3 tbsp in a frying pan. l. butter, add peas and sugar. Cook, stirring, 2 min.

Step 4

Add the white part of the green onion, after 1 min. - green. Stir and remove from heat. Mix peas and onion with rice and serve.
