Pears in wine

Pears boiled in syrup can not be served whole, but cut them along three-quarters of the length, and then fanned out on a plate.

Ingredients

Servings 2 servings
  • lemon
  • 200 ml dry red wine
  • 200 ml dry white wine or grape juice
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 pears
  • bay leaf
  • 0.5 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 st. l. Teddy bear

Cooking

Step 1

1. Wash the pears. With a vegetable peeler, cut off the skin from them, without touching the stalk. 2. Pour red and white wine into a saucepan, add honey, lemon juice, powdered sugar, cinnamon, cloves and bay leaf. Put on fire and heat, stirring constantly, until the powdered sugar dissolves. Place the pears in a saucepan. Cook over low heat for 30 minutes. Pears need to be turned over from time to time. Remove the pears from the syrup with a slotted spoon. Strain the syrup and continue to boil until it thickens, 15-20 minutes. Serve pears with hot syrup. TIP Pears boiled in syrup can not be served whole, but cut them lengthwise by three quarters of the length, and then fanned out on a plate.
