Meatballs in spicy tomato sauce

Meatballs are a very convenient food! Firstly, there are countless variations of sauces, and secondly, meatballs are convenient. And thirdly, it's amazingly delicious!

Ingredients

  • onion - 1 pc.
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tbsp. l.
  • meat broth - 400 ml (can be replaced with water)
  • cornstarch - 2 tbsp. l.
  • ketchup - 2 tbsp. l.
  • salt, sugar, pepper - to taste
  • minced meat - 1 kg
  • egg - 1 pc.
  • ketchup - 1 tbsp. l.
  • breadcrumbs - 3 tbsp. l.
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tbsp. l.
  • onion - 1 pc.
  • salt and pepper - to taste

Cooking

Step 1

Cooking meatballs. We heat the oven to 200 degrees. Finely chop the onion and fry until golden brown in butter. Add to minced meat: fried onion, egg, ketchup, breadcrumbs, sauce, salt and pepper. We mix everything thoroughly.

Step 2

We form small meatballs from minced meat. We cover the baking sheet with baking paper and lay out the meatballs in 1 layer. We send it to the oven preheated to 200 degrees and bake until tender, about 25 minutes.

Step 3

While the meatballs are baking, prepare the sauce. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or wok. Finely chop the onion and fry for 5 minutes until golden brown. Add ketchup and Worcestershire sauce.

Step 4

Add starch to cold broth or water and mix well. Turn the heat under the pan down to medium. Transfer the starch mixture to a frying pan (wok) and mix thoroughly with a whisk. Add salt, sugar and pepper to taste, cook until the sauce thickens.

Step 5

We transfer the finished meatballs to a frying pan (wok) with sauce and heat for about 5 minutes. Serve hot.
