Apples, Potato, Beet, Herring, Green pea, Salad with herring

Herring salad

This German dish looks like a vinaigrette. But he has a completely different taste, which can be changed at will by choosing herring of different salting.

Ingredients

  • 2 potatoes
  • 2 beets
  • 1 Antonovka apple
  • red onion - 1 onion
  • 200 g salted herring
  • 2 tbsp. l. unrefined sunflower oil
  • lemon juice
  • 100 g canned green peas
  • 20 g of green onions

Cooking

Step 1

Wash potatoes and beets thoroughly with a brush, boil in their skins. Drain water and let vegetables cool. Peel the vegetables from the skin and cut into small cubes.

Step 2

Cut the apple into 4 parts, remove the core, cut into the same cubes, sprinkle with lemon juice. Peel the onion, cut into thin rings. Wash green onions, cut diagonally into thin rings.

Step 3

Put potatoes, beetroot, apple and onion in a bowl, add green peas, sunflower oil and mix. Transfer to a serving platter. Arrange herring pieces nicely on top. Sprinkle salad with green onions.
