Fragrant cookies "Valentines"
Taste from childhood! The older sister kneaded the dough and twisted it through a meat grinder in order to get delicious chrysanthemums as a result, but with the current tools it is possible to create more elegant and beautiful things, the main desire.
Ingredients
- sugar - 220 g
- egg - 2 pcs.
- butter (room temperature) - 200 g
- flour (sifted) - 460-480 g
- baking powder - 0.5 tsp
- for flavor, you can add vanillin, lemon or orange zest, Cuban rum - 0.5 tsp.
- for icing sugar:
- fresh egg white - 1 pc.
- sifted powdered sugar - 225g
Cooking
Step 1
Beat sugar, eggs and the selected flavor until smooth, add butter and beat again until smooth. In the resulting mass, in several stages, mix (at first with a mixer, then with your hands) the flour, previously mixed with the baking powder. When adding flour, watch its consistency, it should turn out plastic and soft, but not sticky to your hands. Roll the dough into a ball, wrap in cling film and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
Step 2
Before work, knead the dough in your hands and roll it out on the table sprinkled with flour. We cut out hearts with recesses and bake on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper (or a silicone mat) for 10-20 minutes (depending on the size of the cookies) in a preheated oven to 180-190 ° C. Then cool completely on a wire rack for about an hour.
Step 3
We make icing (icing). Add 1/3 of the powdered sugar to the egg white and mix on low speed until smooth. Then add half of the remaining powder, mix again until smooth. Add the rest of the powder and beat on high speed for about 5-6 minutes until stiff peaks form. If the soul requires creativity, like mine), icing can be colored using food coloring. We put the right amount of icing in a pastry bag and start creating!)
