Beetroot stew with bacon

Ingredients

Servings 4 servings
  • 700 g small beets
  • 250 ml cream with 10% fat
  • salt
  • vegetable oil - 1 tbsp.
  • 100 g bacon
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 st. l. orange peel

Cooking

Step 1

1. Cut the bacon into strips. Peel the beetroot and cut into long, thin strips with a vegetable peeler. 2. Heat oil in a frying pan. Fry the bacon, 3 minutes. Add beets and cook, stirring constantly, for 4 more minutes. 3. Pour in the cream, salt and pepper. Add cinnamon and chopped zest. Stir and simmer covered over very low heat for 20 minutes.
