Pasta and Cauliflower Casserole

Cheesy pasta and cauliflower casserole with a savory crispy bacon crust.

Ingredients

  • bacon - 4 slices
  • cauliflower - 1 head
  • pasta horns - 500 g
  • cheese - 250 g
  • stale bread - 4 slices
  • rosemary - a few sprigs
  • garlic - 2 teeth
  • crème fraîche - 250 g
  • parmesan for serving
  • salt pepper
  • olive oil

Cooking

Step 1

Preheat oven to 220 degrees. Place the bacon in a baking dish and place on the top rack of the oven. Cabbage cut into large pieces, put in a saucepan, add pasta, pour boiling water and put on high heat. Salt, splash olive oil. Cook according to pasta instructions.

Step 2

Grate the cheese. Take the bacon out of the oven. Grind in a food processor: bacon, bread, rosemary. Add a spoonful of olive oil.

Step 3

Drain pasta and cabbage in a colander. Save water from cooking. Transfer pasta with cabbage to a large baking dish, pour in a little water from cooking, crush garlic, add grated cheese and crème fraiche. Mix gently. Smooth out and sprinkle with crumbs. Put in the oven for 8-10 minutes. until browned.

Sprinkle the finished casserole with grated parmesan.
