Morse from chokeberry with honey

To make the taste of this fruit drink more interesting, add a little red rowan to the chokeberry. Only a little! The berries of the chokeberry, which once came to us from North America, are much larger and sweeter than the red-fruited one.

Ingredients

Servings 6
  • 2 cups chokeberry
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 l bottled water
  • 1 lemon
  • 1/4-1/2 cup honey
  • bunch of common rowan, optional

Cooking

Step 1

Sort the berries, removing the branches. Crush the berries and sprinkle with sugar, let it brew for several hours. Peel the lemon, squeeze out the juice.

Step 2

Put the rowan in a sieve, set over a bowl. Push, squeeze the juice.

Step 3

Put the pomace in a saucepan, fill with bottled water, add the lemon zest, bring to a boil over low heat. If you want to get a drink with a spicy bitterness, also put a bunch of red mountain ash (slightly crush the berries). Boil 5 min.

Step 4

Then remove from heat, leave covered for 20 minutes.

Step 5

Mix the decoction with juice and honey, stir until the honey is completely dissolved. Serve warm or cold
