Café au lait
Just coffee with milk. A great option for a homemade breakfast - as, in fact, the whole of France drinks it, dipping a croissant into a large cup of coffee. By the way, if you're abstaining from coffee for some reason, you can make a New Orleans-style café-au-le by brewing chicory instead of coffee and blending it according to this recipe.
Ingredients
Servings 2- 3 tsp with a hill of coarse ground coffee
- 1 glass of milk
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 1.5 cups of bottled water
- sugar
Cooking
Step 1
Preheat French press, pour in coffee, fill with freshly boiled bottled water, close, brew 4-5 minutes. Drop the press.
Step 2
Pour milk and cream into a saucepan, stir and bring to a boil over medium heat (but do not boil).
Step 3
Warm up large cups. Pour a little coffee into the bottom of each cup, then pour in the milk and remaining coffee. Sweeten to taste if desired and serve hot.
