Turkey souvlaki
Souvlaki, miniature skewers, can be cooked at home, on the grill or in a frying pan.
Ingredients
Servings 4- 2 lemons
- 800 g small turkey fillet
- 4 garlic cloves
- 200 g olive oil
- 200 ml dry white wine
- 1 Art. l. dry oregano
- salt to taste
Cooking
Step 1
Cut the small turkey fillet into cubes with a side of 2.5 cm.
Step 2
Squeeze the juice from the lemon, mix with wine, olive oil, minced garlic and oregano. Add turkey, stir and season with salt. Stir again and leave the meat to marinate for 1.5-2 hours.
Step 3
Thread meat onto skewers, 5-6 pieces each. Thoroughly coat the souvlaki with the marinade on all sides.
Step 4
Light the coals, set the grate and heat properly. Grease the grate with oil, lay out the skewers. Dip the thyme sprigs in the marinade and brush the meat with it occasionally. Cook the souvlaki for 5-8 minutes depending on the heat of the coals, turn over and continue to fry for another 5-8 minutes, remembering to brush with the marinade. Serve with Greek salad.
