Cheese, Eggs, Parmesan, Mozzarella, Pasta

Cannelloni with cheese and herbs

Malta - a small island in the Mediterranean Sea - for many years was a colony of the French, and then the British, but neither one nor the other had any influence on its cuisine. It is more like Sicilian, and this recipe is proof of that.

Ingredients

  • egg - 1 pc
  • salt
  • basil
  • 300 g mozzarella
  • 100 g of grated parmesan
  • 1 bunch of mint
  • 250 g cannelloni pasta
  • butter - 1 tbsp. l.
  • pine nuts
  • olive oil - 3 tbsp. l.
  • garlic - 1 clove

Cooking

Step 1

Boil the cannelloni. Prepare the sauce by mixing herbs, garlic and olive oil. Prepare the minced meat: lightly fry the pine nuts, finely chop the mozzarella, mix with the resulting sauce and half of the parmesan. Grease a baking dish with butter. Fill the cannelloni with minced meat and place in a mold. Beat the egg, mix with the remaining parmesan, coat the cannelloni with the resulting mixture. Bake in a preheated oven for 15 minutes at 200°C. Remove from the oven, separate the cannelloni from each other and serve immediately.
