  • 1 st. l. almond liqueur
  • large egg
  • butter - 2 tbsp.
  • sugar - 125 g
  • 500 g ready-made puff pastry

Cooking

Step 1

1. Grind almonds in a blender until powdered. Cream butter thoroughly with sugar. Beat in 2 eggs, add almond powder and liqueur. Mix. This recipe uses almonds that have not been peeled or roasted. 2. Defrost the dough, divide into 2 parts, one should be a little larger. Roll each part into a circle, trim the edges with a knife. Lay the smaller circle on the parchment paper. Put the filling on it, not reaching the edge of 1.5–2 cm. Smooth the filling with a spatula. Lightly beat the remaining egg, grease the edges of the circle with it. 3. On a circle of larger diameter, make shallow cuts in the form of wheel spokes. 4. Put a larger circle on the filling, fasten the edges with your hands. Place the sheet of parchment with the cake in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. 5. Grease a baking sheet with oil, put it in the oven. Preheat the oven to 200ºС. Brush the surface of the cake with the remaining egg. Carefully remove the hot baking sheet from the oven, carefully transfer the parchment with the cake onto it; put the tray back in the oven. Bake 30 min. Remove cake from oven, let cool. BTW In the UK, this cake is called the cake of the Magi. It must be put on the Christmas table.
