It would seem to be a standard combination of products and no magic, but this dish is loved now as much as in the old days. Firstly, it is practical: you do not need to cook the meat and side dish separately - you get everything at once. Secondly, the products are soaked in each other's juice and smell, after which they become even tastier. Thirdly, it is very filling!
Step 1

Heat the vegetable oil in a saucepan, add the onion and fry until golden brown. Then add the meat and hot water. Cook over low heat for 40 minutes. Add the potatoes, cover and simmer for another hour.
Step 2

Add salt, bay leaf and pepper. Put in chopped greens and simmer for another 2-3 minutes until done.
Step 3

Serve the dish hot, sprinkled with green onions if desired.
