And this recipe is for those who love the "Scandinavian" herring. Today I’ll tell you how to cook a very tasty herring in a spicy wine marinade. Red wine has exceptional qualities for a marinade, it contains a unique balanced set: amazing aroma and natural acids that can turn an ordinary herring into a real delicacy. And spices and spices successfully complement this delicious union!
First you need to prepare a wine marinade for herring: mix dry red wine and wine vinegar in a small saucepan.
Pour prepared spices - coriander grains, mustard seeds, bay leaf and sugar. The amount of sugar depends on how "sour" the wine is. Put the saucepan on the fire, bring the wine to a boil, boil the marinade for 5 minutes over medium heat.
Cut the herring fillet into portions of the size that suits you and put them in a deep dish or in a food container in layers along with onion rings and spices.
Pour the herring with wine sauce, cover with cling film, refrigerate for 1-2 days.
