Redcurrant jam
Ingredients
- Red currant - 800 g
- Sugar - 1500 g
- Water - 250 g
Red currant is a tasty and healthy berry that grows in almost every garden and in every forest near rivers and streams. Red currant berries are sour, but have an excellent vitamin composition that saves from many diseases. For example, they normalize the digestion process and have an antioxidant effect. They are used to make compotes, dumplings, sauces and, of course, jam for the winter.
Step 1

Prepare the berries. Mix the berries and sugar, leave for 1 hour. Add a glass of water.
Step 2

Cook the jam. Bring the berry-sugar mixture to a boil over medium heat and cook for 5 minutes. Cool the jam for 2 hours. Bring it to a boil again and cook for another 5 minutes. Cool the jam again for 2 hours. Bring the jam to a boil for the third time and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 3

Preserve the jam. Place the hot jam into sterilized jars. Seal tightly with sterilized lids.
