Mulled wine is a hot alcoholic drink made from wine, with spices and fruits added. It first appeared in Central European countries and later gained popularity all over the world. Traditionally, mulled wine is prepared in autumn and winter, because it warms you up perfectly. In Europe, mulled wine has become an integral part of Christmas fairs. This drink can also be prepared at home. It is usually prepared using dry red wine, which is brought to 80°C and various spices, fruits and dried fruits are added to it.
Step 1

Cut the orange into large slices. Set aside a few orange slices for serving.
Step 2

Pour water into a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Add spices and cook for a couple of minutes so that the spices give off their flavor and aroma.
Step 3

Pour red wine into the pan. Reduce heat to low.
Step 4

Add orange slices to the pan.
Step 5

Add honey and mix everything. Heat the mulled wine, but do not bring it to a boil – the mulled wine should not boil!
Step 6

Turn off the heat. Let the mulled wine sit for 10-15 minutes. Done.
