Salmon is a fatty fish containing a large number of vitamins (for example, almost the entire list of group B), as well as phosphorus, potassium, iodine and Omega-3. Its regular consumption strengthens blood vessels and the heart, maintains the health of the thyroid gland and the musculoskeletal system. In addition, the fats in fish have a positive effect on brain function, and a large amount of protein satisfies hunger well and, thanks to this, helps to lose weight.
Step 1

Prepare the salmon for salting. Cut the fillet into medium pieces and place in a bowl or container. Sprinkle the pieces of fish with cognac.
Step 2

Prepare the curing mixture. Mix salt, pepper and sugar and sprinkle the fish with this mixture. Chop the bay leaf and sprinkle it on the salmon as well.
Step 3

Leave the fish to salt. Press down and put it in the refrigerator, cover with a towel. After 12 hours, the salmon will give off brine - drain it, turn the fish over and return it to the refrigerator for another 8 hours.
