Small red northern cranberries can be used to make not only fruit drinks and kissels, but also to make pastila, jelly and jam. To make cranberry jam, you only need three ingredients - the berries themselves, a little water and sugar. The jam recipe does not require long cooking of the berries, so the cranberries will retain more of their beneficial properties. Quick five-minute cranberry jam is an excellent supply of vitamins and antioxidants for the winter, which will come in handy as a means of strengthening the immune system.
Step 1

Cook the cranberries. In a wide saucepan with a thick bottom, mix the berries, sugar and water. Place the saucepan on medium heat. Stirring with a spoon, bring the jam to a boil, reduce the heat to minimum and cook for another five minutes. Remove foam if necessary.
Step 2

Place the jam in jars. Place the finished cranberry jam in sterilized jars and roll up the lids. Turn the jars with jam upside down and wait until they cool completely.
