Take a deep bowl. Add sugar, salt and egg to the mashed cottage cheese. Mix everything well. Then mix the flour with baking powder and gradually add to the resulting mass. Depending on the cottage cheese, you may need more or less flour, watch the consistency. The dough should be soft, but not stick to your hands.
Sprinkle the table with flour and roll the resulting mass into a sausage with a diameter of about 5-6 cm. Cut the sausage crosswise into circles 1-2 cm thick. Roll them in flour.
Take a frying pan and pour oil into it, put it on medium heat. Wait until the oil heats up and start laying out the syrniki. Fry them on each side for 3-4 minutes. Make sure that the syrniki do not burn and remain slightly golden.
